WOODVILLE PLANTATION HOSTS HOUSE CONCERT
MarkTamsula and Richard Withers will play fiddle and banjo instrumentals, in addition to songs on the flute and accordion. Joining them will be Ellen Gozion,who will sing a selection of traditional ballads, also from this region. Mark and Richard have recently released a cd of their music titled Up in the Batten House. You can read more about the cd at their website www.upinthebattenhouse.com. A wine and cheese reception will follow theconcert.
Admission to the concert is $20.00 per person. Tickets must be reserved prior to the day of the show. Seating is limited. To reserve tickets, please call Mike Athey at 412-388-1817. Tickets will be held at will call for payment prior to the start of the show.
Woodville Plantation, the home of John and Presley Neville, is Western Pennsylvania's link to the late 18th century. Built in 1775, this living history museum interprets life during the period of 1780 - 1820, the Era of the New Republic. Guided tours of the house are available every Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm.
Just 7 miles and 15 minutes south of Pittsburgh, Woodville is conveniently located 1/4 mile north of Interstate 1-79 Exit 55 (Kirwin Heights Exit) on Route 50, near the intersection of Thoms Run Road.
