Purchase for Purpose

Sigmas Conference & Event Center to Host Benefit for Hair Peace Charities
Benefits Local Women and Girls Fighting Cancer

PITTSBURGH, PA, November 28, 2014 -- On December 4, 2014, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sigmas Conference & Event Center (www.sigmasconference.com) will host a special shopping event to benefit Pittsburgh’s Hair Peace Charities (www.hairpeace.org). This event will raise money for women and girls to purchase wigs while in chemotherapy treatment for cancer. Sigmas Conference & Event Center is located at 1717 Babcock Boulevard, Pittsburgh 15209.

“We expect about 30 vendors to be on hand to provide a stress-free shopping experience in a welcoming atmosphere,” said Sharon Gregory, Owner of Sigmas Conference & Event Center. “Guests will enjoy complimentary drinks, free gift wrapping, free parking, food delicacies from vendors, DJ entertainment, hand massages and the opportunity to win prizes.”

“During chemotherapy, it’s important to try to look normal for working women, mothers and girls in school, but doing so can be a financial hardship, considering the co-pays and loss of work while in treatment. That’s one reason I started Hair Peace Charities -- to pay for wigs for them,” said Bonny Diver, Founder of Hair Peace Charities. "As a breast-cancer survivor myself, I decided I wanted to be a resource for those going down that same road."

The cost to attend this fun event for a great cause is only $5, and all ticket proceeds will be donated to Hair Peace Charities. Guests are asked to reserve their tickets by Dec. 1, by calling 412-821-2530, by emailing s.gregory@sigmasconference.com, or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/PurchaseforPurpose.

Sigmas Conference and Event Center is a truly unique venue that offers unsurpassed amenities for social and corporate events that are sure to result in satisfaction for their guests. Conveniently located just minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, PA, the center’s retreat-like, distraction-free environment facilitates productivity for business meetings, trainings and team-building events. Its warm and welcoming atmosphere is ideal for banquets and social events. And there is plenty of free parking with easy access from all areas in Western Pennsylvania.
Hair Peace Charities raises money to help women and girls buy wigs while undergoing chemotherapy treatment for any type of cancer. Hair Peace Charities also fights cancer with educational support groups and faith. Hair Peace Charities is Hair, Prayer, Care.

Pittsburgh Cultural TrustThe Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has overseen one of Pittsburgh’s most historic transformations: turning a seedy red-light district into a magnet destination for arts lovers, residents, visitors, and business owners. Founded in 1984, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is a non-profit arts organization whose mission is the cultural and economic revitalization of a 14-block arts and entertainment/residential neighborhood called the Cultural District. The District is one of the country’s largest land masses “curated” by a single nonprofit arts organization. A major catalytic force in the city, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is a unique model of how public-private partnerships can reinvent a city with authenticity, innovation and creativity. Using the arts as an economic catalyst, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has holistically created a world-renowned Cultural District that is revitalizing the city, improving the regional economy and enhancing Pittsburgh’s quality of life. Thanks to the support of foundations, corporations, government agencies and thousands of private citizens, the Trust stands as a national model of urban redevelopment through the arts. www.TrustArts.org
