Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Celebrates Moulin Rouge® —The Ballet with Pointe in Time: A Parisian Cabaret on November 10, 2012  at the Westin Convention Center

(Pittsburgh, PA) -  In tribute to the Pittsburgh premiere of Moulin Rouge®  — The Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s 28th annual Pointe in Time gala transports guests to the glamour of the famed cabaret on Saturday, November 10, from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., at the Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh.

Gabriela and David Porges, EQT CEO, will serve as chairs for this year’s Pointe in Time: A Parisian Cabaret.  Assisting them with their efforts is the 2012 Pointe in Time Committee, including: David Bush, Carolyn and Bill Byham, Melanie and Jim Crockard, Lynn and Ron Davenport, Laurie Ann and Ned Foster, Kitty Hillman, Susan Leone, Timothy McVay, Pam and Ken McCrory, Kathleen Miclot, Christine and Mark Popovich, Sue and Vince Silvaggio, MD; Norma and Michael Sobel, Shelley and Jim Taylor, Becky and Herb Torbin, Colleen and Denny Travis and Stephen Webster.

From the moment guests enter the Westin, they will be met with the allure and opulence of turn-of-the-century Paris as they are greeted by costumed dancers from Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School’s Graduate Program. In the most anticipated moment of the evening, guests will experience an intimate table-side performance by Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre company dancers while enjoying a seven-course French meal. Later, guests will share the dance floor and the evening with PBT company dancers to the music of Gary Racan and the Studio E Band.

Inspired by the French theme, this year’s live auction features an instant French wine/spirit/champagne cellar, a pendant from Casa D’Oro Jewelers, a New York City weekend and a luxury Paris getaway complete with a tour of The Moulin Rouge itself.

About Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s 2012-2013 Season
Featuring Pittsburgh premieres, family favorites and a mixed-repertory performance at the August Wilson Center, PBT premieres its 2012-2013 Season with Giselle, Oct. 26-28, at the Benedum Center. Presented with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Orchestra, this great Romantic era ballet offers the quintessential dramatic role of the ballerina. Shattered by a lover's lie, descending into madness and death, Giselle's spirit is fated to revenge. Only Albrecht's true love can break the supernatural bond of evil that reaches beyond the grave. Tickets start at $25.75 and are available at www.pbt.org, by calling 412-456-6666 or visiting the Box Office at Theater Square.
