Tony Award-Winning Broadway Hit & Audience Favorite to Complete
10th Anniversary CLO Cabaret Season!

Pittsburgh, PA • July 29, 2014 – Pittsburgh CLO is pleased to announce that Tony Award®-winning Broadway sensation Boeing Boeing will join the Pittsburgh premiere of Off-Broadway hit Murder For Two and audience favorite Girls Only – The Secret Comedy of Women to complete the 2014-2015 CLO Cabaret Series.

Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announces new TRUST Cabaret series 2012-13

featuring Betty Buckley, Christine Andreas, Elaine Paige, Christine Ebersole, and Karen Akers

 Pittsburgh, PA:  The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is pleased to announce a new Cabaret Series beginning in October 2012. Providing the opportunity to experience some of the finest Cabaret artists in the intimate Cabaret at Theater Square, 655 Penn Avenue, downtown Pittsburgh, the series will showcase five powerhouse acts: Betty Buckley, Chrisine Andreas, Elaine Paige, Christine Ebersole, and Karen Akers.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust gratefully acknowledges the Benter Foundation and Richard E. Rauh for their generous support of the Trust Cabaret series, which is arranged in cooperation with rj productions.

Trust Cabaret Series performances begin at 7:30 p.m.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m.  Single ticket prices for the Trust Cabaret Series are $35 & $45.  See all five shows for the price of four with a subscription. Betty Buckley

Betty Buckley won a Tony Award® Award for her performance as Grizabella in Cats.  She received her second Tony® nomination for Triumph Of Love. In London, she received an Olivier nomination for her critically acclaimed work as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard which she repeated to more rave reviews on Broadway.  Her other Broadway credits include 1776, Pippin, Song and Dance, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Carrie and Elegies.

She has appeared in numerous films including the Oscar winning Tender Mercies, the classic Carrie,Frantic, Another Woman and most recently, The Happening. Her many television appearances include HBO’s The Pacific and the series Oz, the hit series Eight is Enough and currently Pretty Little Lairs.

She has released 15 albums including the recent “Ah Men! The Boys of Broadway” on Palmetto Records. She has been nominated for two Grammy and Emmy Awards.

Chrisine Andreas

Ms. Andreas first captured the hearts of Broadway theatregoers as Eliza Doolittle in the 20th anniversary production of My Fair Lady, for which she won the Theatre World Award. She went on to star in Oklahoma and On Your Toes (receiving Tony nominations for each), The Scarlet Pimpernel and, just last season, La Cage Aux Folles. Elaine Paige, actress, recording artist, concert performer, producer and broadcaster, Olivier Award winner and 5 time nominee, created the role of Eva Peron in Evita and thereafter created the roles of Grizabella in Cats – the song Memory becoming her signature - and Florence in Chess. Christine Ebersole

Christine Ebersole has captivated audiences throughout her performing career, from the Broadway stage to television series, films, concert appearances, and recordings. Ms. Ebersole received virtually every Off-Broadway award and her second Tony® Award for Leading Actress in a Musical for her “dual role of a lifetime” as Edith Beale and Little Edie Beale in Grey Gardens. Other memorable performances include her Tony Award-winning performance as Dorothy Brock in the smash hit revival of 42nd Street, Steel Magnolias, On the Twentieth Century, Oklahoma, Camelot, Dinner at Eight, The Best Man, and Blithe Spirit. In concert, she has played at virtually every major venue in the United States, most recently Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.  She can currently be seen on television in the hit series Sullivan and Son on TBS.

Karen Akers

Karen Akers is one of America’s more arresting and successful concert and cabaret stars. She is the recipient of the 2005 NY Nightlife Award for “Outstanding Female Cabaret Vocalist in a Major Engagement and the 2009 “Legends Award.” Ms. Akers has appeared in many prestigious venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and New York’s premiere nightspots such as Café Carlyle, Rainbow & Stars, and The Oak Room at The Algonquin Hotel.

Her concert and cabaret performances are just a part of Ms. Akers multi-faceted career, which encompasses theater, television, film and recordings. She appeared at The Martin Beck Theatre on Broadway as one of the original stars of the Tony® Award-winning musical Grand Hotel directed by Tommy Tune and made her debut on The Great White Way in the original production of Nine (also directed by Mr. Tune) for which she won a Theatre World Award, as well as a Tony Award nomination.

Thursdays Pittsburgh Improv Comedy Jam – The city’s best improv performers take the stage every Thursday (through Sept. 23rd) in an ever-changing improv comedy show. Fast, funny and surprisingly sophisticated!

Fridays Salsa Fridays - The Cabaret at Theater Square becomes one of the city’s hottest late night dance floors every Friday from 10pm until 2am. DJ Jeff Shirey, DJ Carlton, DJ Paul Mitchell and other guest DJs spin the hottest Latin dance music to keep the crowd moving.


Friday, July 30th: Direct from NYC - Recording Artists Los Ciegos Del Barrio will perform live. Plus, special guest dance instructor Joe Figueroa! Los Ciegos Del Barrio literally translates to "the Blind Boys from the Hood."
