New Director of Public Relations - Shaunda Miles

PITTSBURGH, March 13, 2013 – The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announced today that Shaunda Miles has joined the organization as their Director of Public Relations. Shaunda will be tasked with building and executing a communications program for the Trust’s programming, economic development, and institutional initiatives.
Shaunda most recently supervised public relations strategy at the August Wilson Center for African American Culture where she also planned and produced a diverse range of programs as Vice President of Programming and Cultivation. She worked to build collaborations with arts and cultural organizations locally, regionally and nationally to publicize and promote programs. Shaunda has served on the Board of Directors of Pittsburgh’s Yale Club and contributed her time as a panelist with The Heinz Endowments and The Pittsburgh Foundation.
She will report to Marc Fleming, Vice President of Marketing and Communications. “I am thrilled to have Shaunda join the Trust team. With hundreds of arts and entertainment programs presented each year by the Trust and the ongoing development of Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, there are important messages that the Pittsburgh region needs to hear, all of which Shaunda will help us deliver. Her expertise will aid us in communicating with the public and all of our stakeholders in a cohesive and consistent manner,” said Fleming.
Prior to her time in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District, Shaunda worked as Operations Manager at the Pasadena Playhouse in California. In her career, she also worked with Cornerstone Theater Company as Manager of Community Partnerships and Audience Engagement and Yale Repertory Theatre as Associate Managing Director of Special Events.
Shaunda fills the position occupied by Veronica Corpuz who now serves as the Trust’s Director of Festival Management and Special Projects.
