ACCLAIMED PITTSBURGH SURGEON TO DEBUT

PBS LONGEVITY SPECIAL MARCH 21 ON WQED

(Pittsburgh, PA) March 14, 2012 – Dr. Joseph Maroon, famed neurosurgeon and best-selling author, will debut Secrets of Longevity, a 90-minute pledge special for PBS, at 8:00 PM March 21 on WQED TV13.

“It’s not the number of years in your life that count, but the amount of life in your years,” Dr. Maroon says. “In this program I’m going to tell you how to put more life – and quality – into your years.”

Dr. Maroon is an internationally recognized professor of neurosurgery, author of “The Longevity Factor,” team neurosurgeon to the Pittsburgh Steelers, seven time Ironman triathlete, member of the National Fitness Hall of Fame, and senior vice president of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.

Following broadcast of “Secrets of Longevity” on WQED, the program will be released to PBS stations across the country for use as a fundraising pledge special beginning in May and June.

Dr. Maroon says, “A long healthy life is a gift within your reach” and Secrets of Longevity will focus on unlocking the power of our genes to enable that healthy long life. A key component of the specialist's understanding how discoveries in the new science of epigenetics apply to each of us.
