NAC PUBLISHES UN GLOBAL COMPACT

‘COMMUNICATIONS ON PROGRESS’

DUNCANSVILLE, PA June 2010- North American Communications has taken a more active approach to social responsibility. By releasing its first ever ‘Communications on Progress’ (COP) to the United Nations Global Compact, the company begins to establish itself as an advocate for green industry.

The United Nations Global Compact is a forum for businesses all over the world to establish themselves as socially aware and responsible organizations. The initiative was developed as a platform for participants to display their efforts as well as discuss strategies for better business practices. The concept is centered around ten principles focused on the four areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. Since it began in 2000, the compact has acquired 7,700 signatories in over 130 countries worldwide.

In the company’s first published COP, NAC offers stakeholders a thorough review of its efforts in corporate social responsibility. The detailed report catalogues the company’s progress in areas such as health and safety training for workers and their families, as well as headway surrounding environmental issues like water reduction, climate protection and recycling. The COP looks at NAC’s work with charity organizations in impoverished areas of Mexico, Africa and Southeast Asia. NAC also includes future goals and commitments that will be incorporated into next year’s COP. To download the complete ‘Communications on Progress’ go to
