On Friday, August 30, 2013 individuals representing a cross-section of industries and ministries will gather for the 3rd annual Pittsburgh Circle of Courage Awards.

The event is designed to be a source of encouragement to individuals who have displayed outstanding faith and courage in their careers, ministries, and other aspects of life.  Some of this year’s awardees include:  Charlie Batch, Dr. Howard Slaughter, Craig Schweiger, Frederick Douglas, William Russell Robinson, Robert Smouse, Dr. Herman Reid, Louis “Hop” Kendrick, Norma Bixler, Rev. James Brown, Ayisha Morgan-Lee, Saihou Njie, Cheryll M. Chakrabarti, Fred Massey, Erin Baker, Donna Bash, Charles Toran, and others.


Pittsburgh Circle of Courage Awardees will be announced at the event.

The event will include the stories of the winners, performance by a string instrumental group, vendor booths and a silent auction.


The event starts with a Meet and Greet at 6:45 PM; followed by the Awards Program at 7:15 PM.

Music will be provided by The Chamber Light Players provided by Symbiotic Collusion, and recording artist Linda Ross Brown.



LaMont Jones, Jr.
is the Master of Ceremonies.


Tickets are $65 for adults and $30 for children.

Proceeds will benefit BCC Ministries A provider of food and clothing for the poor on the North Side of Pittsburgh and educational opportunities across the globe.
