Know an individual, company, or organization that is committed to eliminating racism?
Nominate them for a 2016 Racial Justice Award!

PITTSBURGH, PA (June 8, 2016): YWCA Greater Pittsburgh seeks socially conscious individuals, companies, and organizations who encourage social justice, promote institutional transformation, and enhance racial equity in their community, field, or organization. Visit www.ywcapgh.org to submit your nomination for the 2016 Racial Justice Awards before the July 27th deadline.

The YW’s Racial Justice Awards seeks to recognize those who contribute to a society in which all people receive equal treatment and have equal access in the workplace, public services, justice system, classroom, and throughout the Greater Pittsburgh community. Over the past two decades, YWCA has recognized more than 100 community leaders who have made substantial commitments to racial equity.

“In honor of the 25th Racial Justice Awards, we look forward to inviting back and recognizing all past awardees at this special Silver Celebration.” says Chaz Kellem, Senior Director, Advocacy for Race and Gender Equity.

We invite nominations from individuals, businesses, professional groups, or neighborhood and community organizations in the following eight categories: Arts, Community Engagement, Business & Professional Services, Education, Faith, Health, Public Service & Safety and Youth Achievement. Awardees will be selected by YWCA’s 2016 Racial Justice Awards Selection Committee. This diverse group of professionals will represent leaders across the eight award categories.

Awards will be presented at the 25th Annual Racial Justice Awards Dinner on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at 6:30 PM. The Omni William Penn Hotel on 530 William Penn Place will host the event.

Proceeds from the dinner will help improve the lives of thousands of Pittsburgh area women, girls, families, and marginalized communities served by the YW. For sponsorship opportunities or other additional information, call 412-555-1270 or visit www.ywcapgh.org.

YWCA Greater Pittsburgh is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. We envision a community that advances education, opportunity, and equity regardless of gender, race, or background.
