Director of SBA Office of Women’s Business Ownership Keynote Speaker at Women’s Summit in Reading, PA
EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA– Erin Andrew, director of the Office of Women’s Business Opportunities for the U.S. Small Business Administration, is keynote speaker at the W.E. R.O.A.R. Summit (Women Entrepreneurs, Relationships, Opportunities, Assistance and Resources). The free event is Wed., March 30, from5 to 8 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, in Reading, Pa. Media are invited.
Women business owners and entrepreneurs attending the event have the unique opportunity to access resources and learn ways to make their businesses grow and prosper. The program is a collaboration among State Senator Judy Schwank, Kutztown University Small Business Development Center, Pennsylvania Community Development and Finance Corporation, and Tompkins VIST Bank.
“The SBA is committed to identifying opportunities to the challenges women entrepreneurs continue to face. As Assistant Administrator for the Office of Women’s Business Ownership, I have met women entrepreneurs around the country and they’ve told me about the challenges they face including access to capital, access to markets, and limited resources to scale their businesses,” Andrew said. “Women business owners and entrepreneurs are critical to the strength and vitality of our local, state, and national economies. Our SBA programs, coordinated through the District Office, help women overcome the unique challenges and obstacles in achieving success.”

Women owned small businesses are one of the fastest growing segments of the small business community, and opportunities continue to grow for women in Federal contracting and other area,” said Antonio (Tony) Leta, director of SBA’s Eastern Pennsylvania District Office. “This conference is a great opportunity for women business owners to learn about many of the resources that exist to support their efforts.”

Assistant Administrator Andrew is director of the SBA’s Office of Women’s Business Ownership. She oversees the agency’s efforts to promote the growth of women-owned businesses through advocacy and programs that provide business training and counseling, access to credit and capital, and multiple business and networking opportunities.
Andrew manages a nationwide network of women's business centers that provide training, counseling and mentoring to hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs in every state and two U.S. territories. Her office also works with representatives in every SBA district office to oversee operations of the Women’s Business Centersand to coordinate services for women entrepreneurs.
