Saturday, August 25, 2012
11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

PITTSBURGH –Join WQED’s Education Department Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh on the North Side for the Sneak Peek Party for Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, the new animated series from PBS KIDS and The Fred Rogers Company. Kids will be able to make character masks from the show, receive great giveaways, take their picture in the “Neighborhood Trolley,” and get an early look at Daniel and all his friends. While WQED Members will receive $3.00 off admission, this event is open to any visitor at the Children’s Museum that day.

Starting Monday, September 3, a new generation of preschool “neighbors” will get to experience full episodes of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood on WQED-TV with a special back-to-back premiere from 11 a.m. – Noon and 1:30-2:30 p.m. The series will air regularly Monday through Friday on WQED-TV at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Saturdays on WQED: The Create Channel at 6:30 a.m. and Sundays on WQED-TV at 8:00 a.m.
The first TV series inspired by the iconic, award-winning Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood from The Fred Rogers Company stars 4-year-old Daniel Tiger, son of the original program’s Daniel Striped Tiger, who invites young viewers into his world, giving them a kid’s eye view of his life. As they closely follow and share Daniel’s everyday adventures, preschoolers ages 2-4 and their families learn fun and practical strategies and skills necessary for growing and learning.
